About Danielle A. Davis, Esq.
Your Techsquire
I’m Danielle A. Davis, Esq.—an attorney, tech policy expert, and creator committed to making complex issues in technology, law, and equity easier to understand and act on.
As your Techsquire, I work at the intersection of emerging tech, civil rights, and public policy—breaking down complicated frameworks like Section 230 (the law that made the modern internet possible), generative AI, and data privacy so that everyday people, Black communities, and mission-driven organizations can make informed decisions about the digital world shaping our lives.
I currently serve as Director of Technology Policy at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, where I lead research on broadband access and affordability, Section 230, privacy, and AI—and how these issues uniquely impact the Black community.
Previously, I served as a Tech & Public Policy Visiting Fellow at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, where I explored how the First Amendment, Section 230, and generative AI shape Black civic participation and online speech.
I’m also an inaugural alum of Harvard Law School’s “AI and the Law: Navigating the New Legal Landscape” Executive Education Program—a highly selective program for senior leaders across law, policy, and industry. It provided a deep dive into emerging AI technologies and the evolving legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks surrounding them.
In March 2025, I was named an AI Policy Influencer on the Brookings Institution’s (Un)Hidden Figures in AI list—recognized for my work translating the complex harms and possibilities of AI into equity-centered, actionable solutions.
My work has been featured in Tech Policy Press, the State of the Net Conference, TPRC, and beyond. Whether I’m leading a panel, publishing research, or breaking it all down on YouTube, my mission remains the same: to educate, empower, and activate.
